Seldom do these gun sighting compasses come along even though all 18pounders and 25 pounders were issued with them, I assume they were cast aside or lost.
they were issued to enable the gun crew to achieve greater accuracy by placing the sighting compass on the gun breech.
This example is in excellent condition and fully maker marked J M Glauser 1939 it has the /I\ crows foot marking stamped twice on the wooden case The glass is perfect with no cracks or scratches.
A very scarce item.
